POSTER                                                             SERIES

BRIEF
I was tasked with selecting an item I thought was visually and contextually interesting and create a series of 20 posters that embrace these characteristics. Half of the posters were to depict the denotative meanings (dictionary definition), and the other half were to depict the connotative meanings (emotions and associations).

PROCESS
My item of choice was a pair of headphones for my record player because music is a very important aspect of my life. These were my dad’s headphones and because of its age, there was a little wear and tear giving it character. I combined typography with photography to deliver the denotative and connotative aspects surrounding headphones. In doing so, I focused on various physical details of the headphones through photography paired with stylized typography to help reflect the meaning of enjoying music while also being separated from the world around you.

KNOWLEDGE GAINED
This project helped further my typographic skills, using visual hierarchy and scale to emphasize certain ideas. I also improved my photography skills by using a DSLR camera and studio setup to highlight the unique features of my headphones.
