BRIEF
Andy Warhol was an American artist, film director, and producer. He was well known for his printmaking, and was a leading figure of the Pop Art movement. Because of these accomplishments, I see Warhol as a hero, making him the subject of this project in which we chose a historical figure and decided whether we viewed them as a hero or villain. From that perception, I developed a series of 12 cards using various analogies to describe their personality (such as who their spirit animal would be, what vegetable they embody, or what color they are).

PROCESS
Warhol often used repetition in his work creating a noticeable grid, I evolved this into an asymmetrical grid system to reflect Warhol’s unconventional style. I added hints of orange, teal, and pink to reflect the vibrancy of Pop Art, as well as the process of screen printing and layering colors. Both are closely associated with Warhol.

KNOWLEDGE GAINED
I gained a better understanding of how to think more conceptually when creating, and not designing literally, as well as developing my awareness of negative space.
